Mega-Catch™ Mosquito Trap Review
Mega-Catch™ Mosquito Traps – www.megacatch.com
EnviroSafe Technologies manufactures the Mega-Catch™ range of Mosquito Traps, which have been available in the U.S. since 2002. What differentiates Mega-Catch™ from the likes of Mosquito Magnet®, Flowtron® and SkeeterVac is that they do not use propane to produce CO2 and offer an innovative attractant system.

Mega-Catch™ Premier Trap
Mega-Catch™ offer 3 models:
- ULTRA - MCU-800
- PREMIER - MCP-800
- ALPHA - MCA-600 Indoor/Outdoor Trap
Mega-Catch™ traps use a combination of sensory signals including visible and invisible light from an integrated lighting display, color, shape, movement, vibration, texture from an exhaust skirt and infra red heat sources to attract mosquitoes. Enticed to the trap, mosquitoes are swept through a fan and into either a catch bag or a wet catch container. Their flagship Ultra trap offers an optional CO2 slow gas release system which emits CO2 in a pure form from a cylinder. Both Ultra and Premier models incorporate a multifunctional programmable timer which allows the user to program operational settings.
The use of attractants is optional in all their traps and Mega-Catch™ offer either an octenol fragrance strip or the new Mega-Catch™ 3000 combo lure. This is an EPA registered combination attractant incorporating Octenol, Lactic acid and other ingredients which was developed to provide better capture rates of a wider range of mosquito species including the Asian tiger.
The company maintain their traps are self-serviceable, and simple enough that customers don't need to send them away for service or repair; but can easily do this themselves. Customer Service ratings appear high as a result of this feature, with a number of favourable reviews from customers in relation to both their Premier and Ultra traps. One customer testimonial says "When my Mega- Catch units needed service, not only was I able to download the complete service and parts manuals online, but Envirosafe sent me free of charge all the parts needed to upgrade my two units to the latest production configuration, and provided free advice on repairs." Source.
Mega-Catch™ have had indepedent tests conducted on their traps against competitors such as Mosquito Magnet®, Lentek™ and Flowtron® all showing that their traps outperform the competition Source.
What they Say:
Mega-Catch™ Ultra MCU-800
" I have had two of the Mega-Catch Ultra traps for five years and I have nothing but praise for them. Not only do they catch mosquitoes but also those black flies that look like house flies but bite like crazy. And the customer service is the best I have ever received on any item I've purchased on the net."
Mega-Catch™ Premier MCP-800
"Been using this for about three weeks and the liquid catch is full of mostly mosquitoes and a few moths. The area around our backyard (about 1/4 acre) is noticeably more clear. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is the stand, the machining is a little off, so it's a little flimsy."
Mega-Catch™ Alpha MCA-800
" It's possible that this trap may work for some other mosquito species, but if your problem is the Asian tiger mosquito, the Mega-Catch Alpha doesn't do any good. "
" The most effective way for the trap to work is to run it continuously for the first 6-8 weeks. After a couple of weeks there was a noticeable difference in the number of bites we were getting! We even ran it in the house for several nights and have not had a mosquito bite inside the house since then!"
