Mega-Catch™ Mosquito Traps have been on the market in the U.S.A. since 2002. What differentiates Mega-Catch™ from the likes of Mosquito Magnet®, Flowtron® and SkeeterVac is that they do not use propane to produce CO2 and offer an innovative attractant system.
Mega-Catch™ Premier Trap

The top of the line ULTRA offers an optional CO2 slow gas release system which emits CO2 in a pure form from a cylinder. The ULTRA and PREMIER incorporate a multifunctional programmable timer which allows the user to program operational settings. Mega-Catch™ traps use a combination of sensory signals including visible and invisible light from an integrated lighting display, color, shape, movement, vibration, texture from an exhaust skirt and infra red heat sources to cause mosquitoes to enter the trap where they are swept through a fan and into either a catch bag or a wet catch container.
Mega-Catch™ offer either an octenol attractant strip or the new Mega-Catch™ 3000 combo lure which is a combination attractant.
As indicated above, Mega-Catch™ Mosquito traps design is completely different from the likes of their competitors and this has given them favourable reviews from customers in relation to both their PREMIER and ULTRA traps. Mega-Catch™'s trap design appears to be simple enough that customers don't need to send their traps to a service centre for a service or repair but owners can do this easily themselves. One customer testimonial says "The Mega-Catch™ is two to three times more efficient at catching mosquitoes than the Mosquito Magnet® and cost only about a third as much Source. When my Mega Catch units needed service, not only was I able to download the complete service and parts manuals online, but Envirosafe sent me free of charge all the parts needed to upgrade my two units to the latest production configuration, and provided free advice on repairs."
A reviewer on Amazon.com makes a comparison between the Mega-Catch™ ULTRA and Mosquito Magnet® commenting “I have had a Magnet for 3-4 years. The magnet is very, very problematic …” He also talks about a comparison test between the Mosquito Magnet® and Mega-Catch™ ULTRA “I am using the Magnet with Lurex3™, and the ULTRA with CO2, octenol and light. … “I suspect the ULTRA will just simply destroy the magnet in my tests …” Source.
Mega-Catch™ have published on their website four different test results in which they have tested their traps against competitors such as Mosquito Magnet®, Lentek™ and Flowtron® all showing that their traps outperform the competition Source.
There some critical reviews of Mega-Catch™ particularly in relation to their ALPHA model which customers seem to be having mixed success with. However there are only five reviews on Amazon.com for this trap.
